Casting is a standard procedure used by jewelers in which a precise cast based on the shape and design of the ring setting is first created. It is popular because of its low cost, as the same mold can be used for several castings to produce identical-looking rings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Step 1: Make a wax replica of a ring<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A wax model of the ring is made by either having a trained artisan cut a pattern out of wax or by 3D printing using computer-aided design software.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Step 2: Create a Mold to Cast the Ring<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The mold is then filled with hot molten metal, which hardens to form a raw casting. To remove air spaces and pits, this phase is often conducted in a vacuum chamber. The mold may also make several replica rings of the same pattern.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Step 4: Polish and Finish the Raw Casted Parts<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Before being assembled, the raw casted metal pieces are removed individually and subjected to a series of polishing operations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Step 5: Installing the Stone<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
